The Essential Club Free Library, a member of the Southern Tier Library System, was founded in 1897.
The library serves the Village of Canaseraga as well as the outlying areas of Swain, Garwood’s, Birdsall, Ossian and Burns. The not-for-profit tax-exempt organization, is a Cornerstone of the community for 118 years.
The mission of the Library is to provide information, both Educational and Cultural to the community and surrounding countryside.
Library board meetings are open to the public and held the second Wednesday of every third month at 6pm.
Friends of the Library meet the fourth Thursday of every month at 6:30pm at the Library.
