The Essential Club Free Library, a member of the Southern Tier Library System, was founded in 1897.
The library serves the Village of Canaseraga as well as the outlying areas of Swain, Garwoods, Birdsall, Ossian and Burns. The not-for-profit tax-exempt organization, is a cornerstone of the community for 118 years.
The mission of the Essential Free Club Library is to provide information, both educational and cultural to the community and surrounding countryside.
